Product review: Larabar

A list of flavors and nutritional information can be found right here.

You know I love my food bars, yeah? Well, Larabar has been producing some my favorites for a long time!  The first thing I like about them is that they are quite easily available in 'regular' grocery stores.  They are also pretty straightforward: just unsweetened fruit, nuts, and spices.  They average around 200 calories apiece, which works for me! My absolute favorite is Peanut Butter & Jelly, but I was kindly able to try a few new flavors, so here's a rundown on these three!

Tropical Fruit Tart:
Exactly as described! This tasted heavily of pineapple, which is great for me because I'm a pineapple fanatic.  I would definitely get this one again.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip: I liked this one as well! It didn't have an intense peanut butter or chocolate chip flavor, it was a bit more subtle, but I preferred the subtlety because if I wanted a super sweet flavor I'd be eating chocolate peanut butter candy, you know?

Cappuccino: This one was my least favorite, but it was certainly not a terrible flavor.  I just kinda had to think coffee to find the flavor...Maybe it would be better with more vanilla extract, or with vanilla bean paste or something instead? However, it has 5 grams of protein, which means this flavor is one of the more protein-rich of their bars.  So, I was still pretty satisfied!

Have you tried Larabar? Do you eat these type of food bars? If so, let me in on your favorite brands!

  1. I do like these! Some of them are a little rich for in the flavor and texture are a bit intense. But it's great to have natural products like that available. I'll have to try the peanut butter chocolate kind next!
