My Savasana "Speech"

Empty your body into the floor.
Let yourself be comfortable – the way you feel at home..
Take a deep breath in…and then let it go.
Start to scan yourself for areas of tension, starting with the feet…
Call on and release each part of the body,
Including the tiny muscles in the face, around the eyes..
Release your jaw.
Relax the tongue inside the mouth…
Feel the Earth holding you up, supporting you as it does in so many ways..
Let your mind wander.  Notice your thoughts, and breath, but don’t dwell.
Take a few minutes to find & soak up some peace - I'll call you back when it's time.

(5-10 minutes of silence)

Begin to deepen your breath.
Know that you can call on this feeling wherever you are, whatever situation you’re in..
May you awaken to the light of your own true nature,
And may you be healed, so that you may be a source of healing for all others.

(Seated) The good in me sees and respects the good in you – Namaste.

I thought I'd share my typical little guided relaxation speech I use for the folks in Savasana in my Yoga classes.  It's kind of a mish mash of many things I hear other teachers say when I've attended their classes over the years.  Feel free to use it any way that might help you or someone else!

  1. So peaceful! And how cool is it that you have a yoga class! :)
Hope you're having a wonderful day!

  2. Very peaceful - reading this makes me wish I had time for my yoga class this week but we are going out of town. I would love to go to one of yours if I lived closer :-)

    Have a lovely weekend! xo
